Save Your Sight
What Is The Vision Initiative? The Vision Initiative is a new coordinated public eye health program implemented by Vision 2020 Australia in collaboration with partners in the eye health field. Its aim is to raise awareness of the importance of eye health among the general public, health and community sectors and government. The ultimate goal is to prevent avoidable vision loss and reduce the impact of vision impairment for all Australians. In October 2002, the Victorian Government provided $1.8 million over 3 years for the Vision Initiative to be developed in Victoria. The program is a comprehensive approach to encourage those at risk to have regular eye tests and ultimately aims to bring about individual, structural and social change in relation to eye health. http://www.v2020australia.org/Publications/documents/May2003ebulletin.pdf
